Thanksgiving Newsletter
Once upon a time, a few centuries ago the first Thanksgiving took place. A tradition that imparts many of the American values was born. This may sound like a fairy tale, and in all sense the idea of a fairy tale seduces us because it leads us to believe that good overcomes evil and we will all live happily ever after. The truth is that life continued on with some trials along the way, but we must remember the importance of the collaboration and respect for diversity highlighted in the first Thanksgiving. In this day and age, there is so much that we know, but even more that we don’t. Let us find in our hearts the desire to be kind to one another and thankful for the gifts and talents that each person brings to the table.
Cookie Salad
In most homes, people celebrate Thanksgiving with turkey, mashed potatoes, and stuffing. In our home, a holiday dinner is not complete without Cookie Salad. The name may be deceiving for there is nothing of a salad to it. It is a yummy dish that motivates the kids to lick their plates clean. If you are up to something new, give it a try:
Mix 1 cup of buttermilk with 1 package of instant vanilla pudding and 1 container of cool whip. Add 1 can of drained mandarin oranges and 1 package of crumbled fudge striped cookies. Mix it all up and keep it refrigerated until time to serve.
